Ducon Outdoor Living will be exhibiting its latest products at Urban Design and Landscape Expo in Dubai. We spoke to the CEO, Dr. Mohammed Al Farhan; here's what he told us as he prepares to participate to the largest dedicated platform for the Urban Design & Landscape industry in the Middle East.

Please tell us about your company and its vision.

At Ducon Outdoor Living, we are a certified manufacturer and supplier of a variety of concrete products such as pavers and furniture. We have been in the industry for 5 decades and our services have since expanded to include the design and installation of various forms of outdoor living products.
Our vision is to continue expanding and go beyond UAE’s borders. Ducon ODL believes more in customer satisfaction than profit and we give priority to quality along the whole production and supply chain. We strive to maintain long term business relations with all our customers. This has helped us to improve our customer service experience by enabling us to showcase our products at any site away from our factory and showroom.
We envision the use of technology as vital for the future of the industry; so far, our clients can decide on a design of their choice on a virtual reality platform, making changes on-the-go. All this goes in line with our vision of observing total quality management for every project scope.

Why did you decide to sponsor the Urban Design and Landscape Expo?

We strive to emphasise our brand visibility in the market as we get to interact with various key stakeholders essential for our operations such as suppliers, regulatory agencies, prospective clients among others. Sponsoring the Urban Design and Landscape Expo allows us to learn new ideas from various stakeholders who might be exhibiting and this provides us an opportunity for business process improvement in the long-run.

What products will you be showcasing at the show?

Our outdoor living range, notably concrete pavers, outdoor furniture, outdoor kitchen products, outdoor lighting solutions and landscape options among others.

What is your opinion on being part of the trade shows to promote one’s brand in today’s day and age?

Ducon ODL always supports any trade show initiative embracing it as an approach to marketing our products as well as interacting with various key stakeholders essential for the success of our organization.

Why is it important to do business in the Gulf Region?

The Gulf region offers lots of opportunities. The G.C.C for instance is characterized by member states whose economies are stable and diversifying from being oil-based to manufacturing, construction and other types of industries. This becomes important and beneficial for companies such as ours that are in the construction industry as there are more avenues being opened for enterprises to venture into.
The Gulf region is unique as it is predominantly multinational and multicultural which allows business to benefit from an expatriate workforce that brings different experiences from all over the world. Also, unlike other regions, the Gulf has lower energy costs as the nations are naturally endowed with crude oil. This greatly reduces the cost of doing business for any locally-based company. The Gulf is again central, this makes it easier for logistical arrangements to be made from a Gulf based company to any part of the world.
