Can you present ProTenders and its vision?

ProTenders is an award-winning and fast-growing construction tech platform that transforms the way AEC companies connect, track and procure. By combining an advanced bidding engine and construction big data, the platform simplifies how thousands of developers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and manufacturers around the world source new partners, identify and track new project opportunities, and streamline their procurement process securely and efficiently. Today, ProTenders has over 18,000 member companies, tracks 30,000 projects, and has processed over $35 billion worth of bids.
Our vision is to be the No.1 construction tech platform in the region that transforms the way companies connect, track and procure.

Why did you decide to sponsor The Big 5?

As a Gold sponsor in 2018, ProTenders had witnessed great exposure to the brand and its products through The Big 5 Show. The platform successfully generated qualified leads who then became customers of the platform. The exposure as a Gold Sponsor provided ProTenders with online, offline and broadcast exposure that helped build our brand identity to over 68,000 construction professionals.
We were also able to connect with international suppliers, consultants and other organisations through the show. The show indeed supported us by meeting the region’s top buyers and distributors to generate opportunities. Hence, our decision to seeing another successful participation as sponsors this year.

What makes ProTenders stand out among its competitors?

ProTenders launched in the year 2009 offering a digitized tendering solution to streamline the tendering process in the construction industry. Today, apart from offering a successful eTendering platform, ProTenders is now the leading construction intelligence and procurement platform, empowering thousands of developers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and manufacturers around the world to showcase their companies and find new leads and partners, securely and efficiently. ProTenders has over 18,000 member companies and 60,000 listed projects and has processed over USD 35 billion worth of bids.
ProTenders is the only platform that combines an eTendering solution with project intelligence and company profiles in a single platform, making it unique in how much it can help the complex industry streamline. When a company subscribes to our platform, they can go outbound for business through the construction Intelligence solution, generate incoming interest through our company and products profiles solution and even be invited to bid directly through eTendering solution. Our platform offers value to different functions within the construction industry, and hence sets us apart from other tools on the market.
ProTenders is continuously innovating and is driven by solving challenges in the construction industry. One key challenge indicated by our customers is the lengthy and inefficient procurement processes in the industry. As a result, the next product we are co-developing with our customers is a procurement solution that will simplify how contractors can research and procure construction products from suppliers and manufacturers for any kind of project, whether on-site or from their desk. ProTenders is uniquely positioned to solve this challenge because of the high numbers of contractors already using our platform, and manufacturers and suppliers who have products listed on the platform.

What products will you be showcasing at the show?

At the show, customers will get a demo of our platform that offers company visibility, project intelligence and eTendering solution, as well as  decision maker details, finding the right partners and the right projects and much more.

What is your opinion on being part of trade shows in today’s digital age?

Being part of trade shows promotes brand awareness to thousands from across the region and internationally. It’s the ideal platform for industry experts to network in a setting that promotes business awareness. For participating companies, especially, they have the opportunity for face to face interactions with a potential of tapping into that market through these interactions which otherwise would seem challenging - if an organisation were keen to expand internationally.

Why is it important to do business in the Gulf region? What is unique about it compared to other regions?

The Gulf region has several interesting upcoming projects and is constantly developing with some of the world’s first and largest projects. At the heart of innovation and constant new developments, project data for these are limited, and this poses a challenge in terms of project updates and potential contract wins.
At ProTenders, we aim to transform the way AEC companies connect, track and procure. By combining an advanced bidding engine and construction big data, the platform simplifies how thousands of developers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and manufacturers around the world source new partners, identify and track new project opportunities, and streamline their procurement process securely and efficiently.

The Big 5 is the region’s largest and most influential event for the construction industry.

Since 1979, the event has launched hundreds of thousands of products boosting the expansion of the Middle East and African markets. It has facilitated partnerships, advanced knowledge and industry best practices, while serving as the gateway for international companies to access the region.

Having celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2019, the event seeks to support construction companies through a shifting economic landscape, boost business, launch the latest building solutions, educate industry professionals, and foster best practices championing technological innovation.

The Big 5 covers the full construction cycle; not only does it showcase products across six dedicated product sectors: MEP services, Building Interiors & Finishes, Building Envelope & Special Construction, Construction Tools & Building Materials, Construction Technology & Innovation, and the all new Offsite & Modular Construction.

It also runs alongside six specialised events enabling industry professionals to source products from around the globe for every stage of the construction projects: The Big 5 Heavy, Middle East Concrete, HVAC R Expo, Middle East Stone, The Big 5 Solar, and the Urban Design & Landscape Expo.

Beyond bringing to Dubai over 20,000 innovative building solutions to over 68,000 expected visitors, the seven co-located events provide complimentary high-level summits, practical seminars, and CPD-certified workshops to foster collaboration, support best practices, and provide effective solutions to today’s industry challenges.

In order to promote technological innovation in the construction sector, the event also features The Big 5’s Start-Up City, the Live Innovation Zone, and the FutureTech Construction Summit, among others.
