EXHIBITOR INTERVIEW: ART LAND RENEWABLE ENERGY TECHNOLOGY

In talks with Pepsi Baiocco, CEO & Eng. Dana Jaber, Solar Engineer

Art Land Renewable Energy Technology will be exhibiting its latest products at The Big 5 Solar in Dubai this November. We spoke to the CEO, Pepsi Baiocco & Solar Engineer, Dana Jaber; here's what they told us as they prepares to participate in Middle East's only dedicated platform for solar solutions in construction.

What products will you be showcasing at the event?

PVT panel is a hybrid panel that produces both electrical energy & thermal energy in one single panel without any environmental impact. To produce power (electricity) a normal photovoltaic panel needs irradiation from the sun and for this reason the surface of the photovoltaic panel heats up to as much as 90 to 120 degrees Celsius, especially in the equatorial and sub-equatorial areas. Our Twinpower Thermal Panel, thanks to the heat exchanger placed in the back of the panel, in which liquid or simple water circulates, has a dual function of cooling the panel and at the same time making available an energy source such as hot water. Moreover, as it cools the photovoltaic panel, it increases the efficiency of the panel by about 30 - 35%, compared to the same operating conditions of a conventional photovoltaic panel.
Two other benefits attributed to the Twinpower Panel are that due to the cooling function, the panel has a longer lifespan and also allows a faster return on investment. It can either be connected to the grid or off grid.
Since the panel is cooled, the liquid or water is heated and transformed into thermal energy production with the efficiency of around 70%. The result is an accumulated efficiency of 85% -90% (15% -20% electricity production and 70% thermal energy production)
Twinpower systems which have already been installed on residential and commercial properties have already proven to be the success.
The important concept is that this panel produces electricity, as well as hot water at the same time, without using other energy resources, but only using the otherwise wasted heat that would be thrown away by the overheating of the photovoltaic panel.

What added value do these products bring to your sector?

Since we are producing electrical & thermal energy, the benefit will be doubled. The combination of two types of energy allows us to be 30% smaller than a conventional PV system, so the installation cost will also be reduced.
Maintenance operations in our system are very rare but also crucial. Installing rooftop solar panels boosts a home’s green credentials while cutting utility bills and Increasing the value of your home.

Can you share your outlook on the Gulf/Middle East Solar industry:
What is unique about the Gulf/Middle East Solar industry compared to other regions where you operate?

Recently, we have noticed that in the Middle East, some of the countries are having trouble in electricity. The electricity doesn’t work 24/7 on the other hand, the other countries have the electricity for 24/7 but with very high bills! So we came up with a system based on the sunlight that can save the electricity bill up to 100%, is eco friendly, 30% more efficient and takes up less space.

Is there something you are looking forward to in the pipeline?

We have partnered with credible companies both in the UAE region and Bahrain. We are still looking to expand in other areas of the Gulf.

How will it benefit customers to see you at the event?

By being an exhibitor at The Big 5 Solar we have the ability to meet the customers and show them the products and the technology that we have. Also meeting the customers in this exhibition will give them a chance in updating their knowledge in our technology, show them which system is the best for their utilities and how much money and electricity bills they can save by using the solar systems.

What was the best part about your time at the event last year?

Being able to share our unique product with the world and having face-to-face interaction with the best in the energy sector was great. The Big 5 Solar provided us the opportunity to engage with current customers and attendees in general.

Why did you choose to participate again for the event this year?

Gaining access to professionals who have great depth of knowledge that one can tap into, giving anything from interesting tips to powerful insights about the industry. These events often provide the opportunity to gather information about competitors or others working in your industry. They may also enable you to better understand your strengths and weaknesses and provide insight into what skills or experiences to leverage when you want to advance your business.

What do you most look forward to at the event this year?

The exposure to different professionals and the presence of learning opportunities which often spark our creativity, helping us to be innovative and solve.
