EXHIBITOR INTERVIEW: MOSCHOU SA MARMI GRANITI

60 seconds with Maria Sotiriadou, Commercial Director

Moschou SA Marmi Graniti will be exhibiting its latest products at The Big 5 in Dubai this November. We spoke to Maria Sotiriadou, the Commercial Director; here's what she told us as she prepares to participate to the the largest construction event in the Middle East.

What are the major opportunities you spot in the UAE construction industry?

Hospitality and private residential as well as some state projects are in progress and more in consultants hands, so we believe our opportunity is to increase our market share as time passes; no matter what delays or problems occur, Dubai will be a big market for building materials.

What are the major growth drivers for the construction industry in Dubai?

Tourism, tourism, tourism; the leaders of Dubai have understood the meaning of the word "entertainment" and keep developing tourists attractions so that tourists spend more days in every trip to the area.

According to you, what are today’s top 3 trends in the construction industry?

Classy modern design (not very extravagant) - natural materials (or natural looking) - big openings for more light. Hotels and residential buildings will become more simple but elegant as time passes.

How do you think the construction industry will evolve in the next years?

Energy saving - smaller spaces to be more affordable - more simple lines; the buildings will respect environment because this is the trend but also the necessity; prices of property is getting more and more high, so less m2 will make properties more affordable and again more energy saving; decoration will become more simple and more elegant at all levels.

Are there any innovative Products/Solutions your company has developed? Please provide details.

Yes, it is a new designer collection, Mentor, with different models that combine marble with other elements. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-gGJjtVhv73VhnUR-vPAGQ

Why are they innovative?

The way they are produced requires modern technology and is very new to the market. They give a different effect on a wall and they are not mosaics which are now out of fashion.

What products will you present at The Big 5 Show this year?

Our marbles collection mostly of Greek Origin but also marbles from Africa, which come from new quarries we collaborate with.
