What do you think the architects and interior designers have to gain from the exhibition?

As one of the region’s longest running and largest trade fairs bringing together industry professionals across sectors, The Big 5 is an opportunity to measure the pulse of how the construction industry is faring in challenging times and get a sense of the policies, innovations and trends that are likely to shape its future. The A+D community stands to gain from getting first hand exposure to forward-looking construction methods, building materials and technology. This year’s Big 5 Talks is packed with great content and new elements like the seminar on Women in Construction and features like Start Up City and Live Innovation Zone are also likely to be of interest.

Why Cosentino has partnered up with The Big 5 this year?

It is our maiden year at The Big 5 and we’ve come on board as Knowledge Partner for the Big 5 Design Talks. At Cosentino, we heavily invest in innovation and promote knowledge sharing and thought leadership. This we believe is the most sustainable way to support the growth of the industry. At our Cosentino City showroom in d3, we host regular talks and panel discussions for the benefit of architects and interior designers. We see our engagement at The Big 5 as a scaled up extension of our activities.
We are proud to support The Big 5 Design Talks this year which will feature some distinguished speakers and cover an array of hot topics ranging from Lighting to Sustainable design and more.

What is your take on the current state of the local / regional design market and its future outlook?

The region’s design market is growing and evolving steadily. Initiatives like the Dubai Design District (d3) are playing a role in nurturing the growth of a local design community. One sees the rise of entrepreneurs setting up boutique design firms alongside big global players. Green building design, 3-D and other technological innovations and wellness design is catching on. All these are positive indicators.
In addition, Expo 2020 is fueling some ambitious projects so overall the outlook is looking positive.
