Speaking at The Big 5's FutureTech Construction Summit, Harj Dhaliwal, Managing Director of Middle East and India at Virgin Hyperloop One, said:
"Transportation systems till date have developed due to industrialization. With the present technology, Hyperloop is an opportunity to develop a transportation system around you, as the user.
Our vision is "A Connected Gulf": no two cities to be more than an hour apart. Hyperloop will radically change how we plan our cities, as distance and commute will no longer be an issue. Turn cities into metro stops and create mega-regions."
Motaz Al-Mashouk, General Manager, Community Infrastructure and Public Projects, at Saudi Aramco said:
The Big 5 is a key venue for us to scout building materials and technology for our construction division. Saudi Aramco has a specific technology process that includes scouting, evaluating, deployment and most importantly mandating: mandating such technology in our process reviews and contracts.
Technology enhances the safety of construction personnel, which is crucial. The benefits of applying technology in construction creates a compelling argument for contractors to bring in technology to win more projects. At Saudi Aramco, we feel that we have a responsibility to push technology in Construction and sharing the risks with Contractors.
Dominic Wright, Partner, Generation 3D, said at The Big 5's FutureTech Construction Summit:
The Dubai Municipality will be announcing a code on 3D printing in 2018/19. It will be the first in the world so it makes sense for Generation 3D to be here. The UAE’s fast moving government and low bureaucracy helps us progress faster as a business.
