PRODUCT LAUNCHES AND HOT-TOPIC INDUSTRY SEMINARS BRING CROWDS TO THE BIG 5 OUTDOOR DESIGN & BUILD SHOW

Dubai, 26 Sept 2017- Over 4000 visitors attended the opening day of The Big 5 Outdoor Design & Build Show, and co-located events FM EXPO, Gulf Glass and Windows, Doors & Facades Event – more than 30% increase compared to previous edition figures according to dmg events Middle East, Asia & Africa.

The Big 5 Outdoor Design & Build Show is fast proving to be the recognised platform for industry professionals to do business in Dubai and the GCC region, where a thriving construction market is driving huge demand for outdoor specific design and build projects.

Products and services being displayed at the event fall into categories of landscaping, outdoor design & build, water technology & management, infrastructure & urban development – creating a spectacle of colours from children’s play areas to the refreshing feel of outdoor cooling facilities.

Speaker Hvorje Cindrić comments that his Day One CPD talk on Cities in Arid Environments called to action architects of developed sub-Sahara cities like Dubai to spread their industry knowledge. He credited them as experts with the ideas that can set architectural standards for rising communities of similar climates.

Describing the outdoor space as having “an impact on how people see and use their city, creating an economic function as well as a great social function”, Group Design Director at Cracknell Robert Shakespeare reinforces that combating hot weather in an arid environment, like the one in which Dubai is developing, is key to optimizing public spaces.

Shakespeare’s certified discussion favoured the refurbishment of already existing plots to create the best urban landscapes, and considering the 4,000 construction projects currently ongoing in Dubai the chances that building sites lay close to residential areas is high. Enabling integrated growth to take place in urban areas is high on the agenda at the Wallbank Fencing Ltd. stand, offering to contractors an acoustic, high-security, and 95% recycled fencing product.

Sourcing innovative and green solutions for the built landscape is a must for professionals in the industry following the introduction of initiatives such as Dubai Government’s Green Building Regulations. To supply this peaking demand, Sustainability and Smart technologies focused CPD workshops will be populate the final day of seminars.

Other workshops will be held by notable figures in the industry including Executive Director of Dubai Properties Sameer KulKarni, Building Physics Consultant at Buro Happold John Sullivan, and Landscape Architect at Khatib & Alami Peter Scott, covering topics of smart and sustainable design and how it leads to public happiness.

The collection of shows running at Dubai World Trade Centre offer over 100 free to attend workshops across the four events, and aside from the education agenda at The Big 5 Outdoor Design & Build show, products and services will continue to be displayed until 5pm on the 27 September 2017.

The Big 5 Outdoor Design & Build Show is organised by dmg events Middle East, Asia & Africa, and is co-located with the FM EXPO, Windows, Doors & Facades Event and Gulf Glass.
