UNDERSECRETARY OF THE MINISTRY OF INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT INAUGURATES THE FIRST BIG 5 INNOVATION IN PRECAST SUMMIT

H.E. Eng. Hassan Jumaa Al-Mansoori, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, inaugurated the first edition of "The Big 5 Innovation Precast Summit" on November 26 at Dubai World Trade Center. The two-day-long event is sponsored by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program and the Federal Transport Authority- Land and Maritime (FTA).

In the opening speech, Eng. Al-Mansoori welcomed the guests participating in the Summit held on the sidelines of The Big 5 exhibition. He said: "We would like to emphasize that the United Arab Emirates is aware of the importance of the construction industry in the current global economy, as well as of the importance of infrastructure based on innovative ideas, in order to strengthen its position on the global map for the coming years and achieve the goals of the UAE Centennial 2071."

"Achieving a balanced and sustainable development of infrastructure in all its aspects in line with the best international standards is a key assignment entrusted to us by our wise leader. Moreover, it is one of the main tasks that the Ministry of Infrastructure Development seeks to achieve as it is the executive arm of the UAE's Federal Government. Moreover, Pre-Cast Concrete is a strategic component of the Ministry's work plans in the construction and development phase, supporting the infrastructure system and preserving the gains achieved by the State in infrastructure over the past years. It won the first place worldwide for five consecutive years in road quality and the third place in infrastructure quality", added Al-Mansoori.

Al-Mansoori pointed out that the United Arab Emirates government is keen on securing sustainable development, protecting the environment and striking a balance between economic and social developments. Concerning infrastructure, our leadership aspires to make the UAE the world's leading country in infrastructure quality. This requires that all federal agencies exert more effort in collaboration with their strategic partners to achieve the government's aspirations.

Al-Mansoori also stressed that holding both The Big 5 exhibition and the Innovation in Precast Concrete Summit puts together a rich opportunity for all parties concerned with the development of the construction industry in the UAE. It supports its approach to back investment in this field. It also plays a major role in achieving the UAE's objectives to push the field of infrastructure and housing towards excellence and leadership. Pre-cast Concrete technology enhances the quality and speed of construction projects and is widely used in all components of infrastructure (railway systems, highways and ordinary roads), as well as building components and architecture.

Al-Mansoori concluded, "Such international gatherings and the UAE's keenness to host them reflect the UAE's ambitious vision through which it aims to strengthen its global position in the field of developing the construction system and smart solutions related to them and to keep abreast with the rapid changes taking place in the world in this field. The exhibition serves as a unique chance for those interested in the construction sector to enhance their access to the world's best practices in the field by meeting leaders, decision-makers and leading countries."
