- “Major UAE Landscaping Projects 2018” report by Urban Design & Landscaping Expo unveils top 10 landscaping developments in the country.
- Landscaping solutions and outdoor products’ demand on the rise as 10 major landscaping projects hit USD 5.8 billion in value.
The Sheikh Zayed National Museum is not completed yet, but it holds a record already. What is set to be the UAE's first national museum, is in fact the largest landscaping project in the country this year, according to a BNC report published by the Urban Design & Landscaping Expo.
Inspired by falconry, a powerful symbol in the UAE, the USD 1 billion project developed by the Tourism Development & Investment Co. (TDIC) is designed by Foster + Partners, under the direction of Lord Norman Foster.
Upon completion, the Zayed National Museum will be surrounded by a beautifully landscaped garden where planting and installations will explore key moments in the life of Sheikh Zayed and his transformation of the UAE.
Construction projects and mega-urban developments are driving unprecedented demand for outdoor specific design and solutions in the UAE. “The total value of the top 10 landscaping developments here exceeds USD 5.8 billion,” states Josine Heijmans, Portfolio Event Director of the Urban Design & Landscaping Expo, commenting on the “Major UAE Landscaping Projects 2018” report.
“With such massive investments in outdoor spaces, there’s no wonder that the demand for products and solutions to build and maintain urban and green spaces, sports grounds and playgrounds is sharply increasing,” Heijmans adds.
After the Sheikh Zayed National Museum, the report lists The Tower at Dubai Creek, World Legends Theme Park, Warner Brothers World, Warsan Village, Wonderland Park Development, Dubai Eye at Bluewaters Island, Mulberry at Park Heights, the Leadership and Media Pavilions at Dubai Exhibition City, and Reem Central Park, as the top landscaping developments in 2018.
Providers of products, services, and solutions for the outdoor design and build industry from around the globe are expected to come together in droves in Dubai next November for the Urban Design & Landscaping Expo.
Co-located with The Big 5, Middle East’s largest construction event, the exhibition will provide a dedicated platform to meet the region’s booming urban design and landscaping needs.
The Urban Design & Landscaping Expo will also feature a high-level Urban Design & Landscaping Summit.
Organised by dmg events, the event will run from 26 to 29 November 2018 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. To know more, visit www.udlexpo.com.
